PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION

  • This qualification is registered at level 2 on the National Qualifications Framework. Itï‚· provides learners with the opportunity to access learning in broad Agri Trade processes andpractices, which include opportunities for learners to grow in the specific field.

  • ï‚·Learners will be able to combine fundamental, core and elective unit standards in order to gain competence linked to best practices. Learners will, once qualified and assessed as
    competent, be able to demonstrate competence in ordering, receiving, pricing, storing and selling merchandise as well as stock taking and completing sales transactions. Learners will also demonstrate an understanding of the Agri Trade Industry...

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

ï‚· No formal qualification required

  • ï‚· Grade 9, 10, 11 or 12 (No specific subjects are required).

  • NQF Level 1 or equivalent

QUALIFICATION RULES

To obtain this qualification all fundamental and core unit standards are compulsory. The learner
must select a minimum of10 credits from the elective category to total 120 credits.

EXIT LEVEL OUTCOMES

The learner will have demonstrated the ability to make decisions and consider a range of options after
completion of the following unit standards in three specified areas:

Fundamental learning:

ï‚· Applying basic business principles
ï‚· Care for hand tools, utensils and protective equipment
ï‚· Care for technical- and site equipment
ï‚· Care for electronic equipment and measuring instruments
ï‚· Providing customer service
ï‚· Provide administrative support
ï‚· Literacy and communication at NQF level 2
ï‚· Numeracy at NQF level 2
ï‚· Use data entry skills to input computer data

Elective learning:

  • ï‚· Operate forklift

  • Apply storage hygiene

  • Contribute to planning, allocation and supervision of work

  • Receive, store and handle hazardous materials
